What's Norwegian and Commutes?

Why, an Abelian plane, of course!

Norwegian Airlines has pictures of famous Scandinavians on the tails of their planes, including the mathematician Niels Henrik Abel (1802-1829). You can see some of the other ones here. Oddly enough, the Norwegian Air website itself only lists a few of them.

The version of this gag I heard was- what's purple and commutes?

An abelian grape!

I use Norwegian frequently from where I live (Sweden). Good and cheap airline, but legroom is limited though.

What's grounds for an assault charge and commutes? An abelian grope.

Back when I was a research student- mercifully brief period for all concerned- one of the staff was listed as teaching a course in finite group therapy...just as well, those infinite group therapy sessions can be LONG...

Interesting selection of faces they've chosen. It's a shame to see that ridiculous old fraud Heyerdahl amongst so many genuine creative and scientific talents.
